The Department of Turkish Language and Literature, established in 1975, is one of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences' most longstanding departments. With a history spanning over 35 years, the department has cultivated academic excellence through its dedicated faculty, modern library resources, well-equipped classrooms, and advanced technical facilities. The department offers undergraduate and doctoral programs, encompassing four main disciplines: Modern Turkish Literature, Classical Turkish Literature, Modern Turkish Language, Old Turkic Language and Turkish Folklore, fostering a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to education and research.
